Comparing Aaron Rodger’s 2010 and 2016 Performances

12 January 2017 · in NFL, PostgreSQL, PowerBI, Python

“I feel like we can run the table, I really do” – The words said by Aaron Rodgers after 10 games that inspired this visualization.  Data was collected using a great open-source program, “NFLDB,” available at https://github.com/BurntSushi/nfldb.

This visualization compares the difference between before and after Rodgers’ “Run the table” statement for both the Super Bowl winning 2010 season and the current 2016 season, showing the similar and drastic improvement in performance.

I created several views in PostgreSQL, the RDMBS utilized by NFLDB, to create this dashboard in Power BI after the first playoff win against the New York Giants.

Here the post showed a live Power BI dashboard. It was an embed, not a picture, so the archive kept nothing of it. The dashboard’s own link, if it still loads.
